Seven players explore the extremes of their physical and mental limits. In the space of two swift seven minute halves you experience joy and defeat, you make mistakes, you rectify those mistakes, you tinker between attack and defence, you get hit and you make hits. And at the end of it, you get ready to go again. Rugby sevens has the ability to develop outstanding all-round rugby players. With just seven players on the field at one time, there is nowhere to hide. Players must learn to pass off both hands, be aggressive on attack, but also steadfast in defence. They must show brilliant individual flare, but also great teamwork as any chink in the chain will not go unnoticed. The demands of the sport require sevens players to learn skills that will not only stand them in great stead on the field, but also off it. The School of Rugby Sevens is a space dedicated to giving sevens players from all levels and backgrounds the opportunities and tools to hone their craft. Here they’ll get access to the best coaching in the game from former international sevens stars and experts, have the chance to meet and share their experiences with other players and learn how they can apply the skills they learn on the field to their life off of it.
